Centrepieces are the first thing you and your guests will notice when they step into the dining room. Their beauty often leaves guests speechless and amazed. Finding the fine line between ‘not enough’ and ‘too much’ is difficult so we’re here to make it easier.
Like everything with your wedding, you should figure out your theme and stick to it. Specifically, colour- matching the centrepiece flowers to the chairs or table cloths is an easy way to tie your theme into the dining room.
The Main Attraction
The main part of any centrepiece are the flowers (unless you are opting for a more unconventional centrepiece). If your theme is a chic pink, stick to soft pink flowers. To really stick to your theme, opt for the same flowers you have in your bouquet or the flowers you had down the aisle at your ceremony. You could even add in the flowers you had in your aisle flower frame. Add light flowers; ivory, cream, white, to fill the flower centrepiece. Keep it simplistic and elegant and focus of the fine details.
All About the Details
One thing many people forget to focus on are the small details. These can completely transform your centrepiece and tables. Here are just a few to consider:
- Candles (real or fake)
- Cages (possibly for candles)
- Ribbons
- Small gifts for your guests (cupcakes, handmade boxes with sweets inside)
- Invented name cards (card, plastic, hand-written, engraved into plastic- depending on your budget)
- Table glitter
- Place mats
- Table cloths
If your centrepiece seems basic, add some ribbons around d the flowers, choose stained or glittery vases. Table clothes are very important when it comes to the overall look of your tables. If your floral centrepiece is quite basic, choose a sparkly table clothes or place mats for a chic wedding, or for an edgier wedding opt for coloured place mats, or crocheted table cloths. The centrepiece can really be transformed by adding small details to the table rather than huge changes. You could even make each table have different coloured flowers if you have a more outgoing theme.
We hope this was helpful and gave you some inspiration. Paradise Weddings wishes you a happy wedding and good luck deciding on your beautiful centrepieces and table décor.
